Care
SunSeekers Rainbow Coneflower Care
Plant in full sun for the strongest colors, most abundant flowering, and best plant structure. Coneflowers thrive in bright, hot conditions and perform poorly in deep shade or wet soils.
Grow in well-drained soil. This variety tolerates sandy, rocky, or lean soils but should not be kept constantly wet. Avoid heavy clay or areas that hold standing water.
Water regularly during the first growing season to establish a strong root system. Once mature, SunSeekers® Rainbow becomes drought-tolerant and requires only occasional watering during extended dry periods.
For an optional boost in bloom production, apply a slow release fertilizer in spring. Our slow release fertilizer works beautifully with coneflowers.
Deadhead spent blooms to keep color coming all summer. Leave dried seed heads standing in fall and winter for texture and natural bird food.

How Is SunSeekers® Rainbow Different from Other Echinacea?
SunSeekers® Rainbow stands out for its dramatic, color-changing petals. This creates a layered, sunset-like effect not found in standard echinacea.
In addition, the SunSeekers® series is bred for:
-
Exceptional branching that produces more blooms per plant
-
Compact, uniform shape ideal for borders and container gardening
-
Earlier and longer bloom windows than many traditional varieties
-
Reliable performance in heat and humidity with consistent color quality
These characteristics make SunSeekers® Rainbow a premium choice for gardeners seeking high-impact color, long bloom duration, and strong landscape performance.
