Local Pickup FAQ

Everything you need to know about picking up plants at our farm near Knox, Pennsylvania — appointments, pricing, directions, and what to expect.

Yes. All local pickups are by appointment only. This helps us make sure your order is ready and that someone is available to meet you when you arrive. Once your order is confirmed, we'll coordinate a pickup time that fits your schedule.

Our farm is located just outside Knox, Pennsylvania, in the southwestern corner of the PA Wilds. Our address is:

642 J B Knight Road
Knox, PA 16232

We recommend approaching J B Knight Road from the north via T-338 (Hockman Road / Knights Bypass Road). We're very rural, and the roads directly south of us are dirt, narrow, and a bit bumpy — especially during winter when they aren't maintained — so the northern route offers a much smoother drive.

Our farm near Knox is centrally positioned along the I-80 corridor. Here are approximate drive times from nearby cities:

You can also browse plants by region on our Western Pennsylvania and Central Pennsylvania pages.

Our farm is a working nursery rather than a traditional retail garden center, so we're not set up for browsing or walk-in shopping. We're not open for regular retail hours, and we're unable to offer greenhouse browsing at this time.

We recommend confirming your plant list with us ahead of time, and we're always happy to help you plan what to order before you come.

Yes. Customers who pick up their plants directly from our farm receive at least 20% off our online prices. This reflects the packaging materials, labor, and handling required to safely ship live plants across the country — costs that aren't needed when you pick up your order at the farm. Certain products and seasonal promotions may reflect additional savings beyond the standard pickup discount.

Local pickup orders require a $50 minimum purchase and must be scheduled in advance. On select weekends during the growing season, we may open the farm for pickup with no minimum — follow us on social media or join our email list for announcements.

To request a pickup order, please contact us and include:

  • The plants you would like to purchase
  • The container size or plant size (if applicable)
  • The quantity of each plant

Once we receive your request, we'll review availability and send a draft invoice reflecting farm pickup pricing. After the invoice is approved and paid, we'll coordinate a convenient pickup time.

If any items on your list aren't currently in stock, we'll let you know when we review your request and can suggest alternatives based on what's available.

Pickup orders are invoiced and paid for in advance once availability is confirmed. After payment is completed, we'll schedule your pickup appointment and have your plants prepared when you arrive.

Our farm is an active, grower-run nursery in the middle of a major expansion. During your visit you may see hoop houses being built, new growing areas being prepared, equipment parked around the property, and day-to-day farm work in progress.

Your plants will be packed and ready to go, and most pickups take less than five minutes once you arrive.

Yes. Once your pickup appointment is confirmed, we'll send directions and simple arrival instructions so your visit is easy — especially since GPS can sometimes be unreliable in rural areas.

We understand that things come up. If you're running late or need to reschedule your pickup, please let us know as soon as possible and we'll do our best to adjust your appointment.
