Grow Happy™ Plant Guarantee

We’re a small, grower-run nursery in Pennsylvania, and we stand behind every plant we ship. Carriers do not insure or cover damage to live plants, so we created our Grow Happy™ Guarantee to make sure you’re never left without support. Every order includes Healthy Arrival protection, and many hardy outdoor plants also come with extended coverage.

Grow Happy™ Healthy Arrival Guarantee

Every plant purchased on our website is guaranteed to arrive healthy and true to variety. If you believe a plant has arrived with major damage or is not viable, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with clear photos of:

  • The entire plant
  • Close-up photos of the issue
  • The pot and root zone
  • The packing slip
  • The outside of the shipping box (multiple angles)
  • The inside of the shipping box and all packing materials

If the issue was caused by our packing or quality: We will replace your plant at no cost — including free shipping.

If the issue was caused by the shipping carrier (crushing, mishandling, delays, temperature exposure): We will still replace your plant, and you’ll only be responsible for the cost of shipping the replacement.

Grow Happy™ Extended Plant Guarantee (Eligible Outdoor Plants)

Many hardy outdoor plants — such as perennials, shrubs, and trees — automatically include our Grow Happy™ Extended Plant Guarantee. When a plant is covered, its term will be clearly labeled on the product page (for example: “💚 FREE 60 Days of Grow Happy™ Plant Guarantee Included”).

The coverage period begins on the date your order ships.

If an eligible outdoor plant dies within its guarantee period — despite being planted promptly, cared for appropriately, and grown within its recommended USDA zone — you may file a one-time claim for a replacement.

Extended replacements are free — you only pay the shipping cost.

To remain eligible, plants must receive reasonable care, including:

  • Proper planting depth and soil conditions
  • Appropriate watering
  • Planted within 7–10 days of delivery (weather delays are understandable)
  • Protection from extreme weather when possible

If the exact variety or size is unavailable, we may provide a comparable substitute or grow/source a replacement to ship within one year of your original ship date.

Each plant is eligible for one approved replacement.

Understanding Minor vs. Major Damage

Live plants are natural products, and small cosmetic imperfections are completely normal — especially after shipping. The Grow Happy™ Guarantee covers plants that are non-viable, not those with minor, cosmetic wear.

Examples of minor cosmetic issues (not covered):

  • A few bent, broken, or yellowing leaves
  • Small tears, spots, or blemishes
  • Light insect nibbles

Examples of major issues (may be covered):

  • Severely crushed plants
  • Plants arriving dry, crispy, or without live tissue
  • Damage that clearly threatens the plant’s survival

What Isn’t Covered

Houseplants and annuals are covered by our Healthy Arrival Guarantee only and do not qualify for extended coverage.

The following are not covered under any Grow Happy™ Guarantee:

  • Planting outside recommended USDA hardiness zones
  • Poor drainage, underwatering, overwatering, or delayed planting
  • Extreme weather (drought, heat waves, cold snaps, hail, wind, storms)
  • Animal damage (deer, rabbits, groundhogs, pets)
  • Damage from lawn equipment, chemicals, salt, or accidents
  • Normal cosmetic variation or light shipping wear
  • Plants purchased through third-party platforms (Etsy, Shop, etc.)
  • Wholesale orders

Dormant Plants

Many hardy plants naturally ship dormant in fall, winter, or early spring. Dormant plants may look leafless, brown, or “dead,” but this is normal. Dormancy is not considered a defect and does not qualify for replacement.

Submitting a Grow Happy™ Claim

To submit a claim, please contact us through our contact form with your order number, photos, and a brief description of the issue.

Approved claims are fulfilled with replacement plants only. If a plant is out of season or temporarily unavailable, replacements may require additional time.

Customer Responsibilities for Approved Replacements:

  • Shipping cost only — for all carrier-related Healthy Arrival claims and all Extended Guarantee claims

Original shipping fees are non-refundable. Replacement plants do not receive a new guarantee period.
