Summary
Apricot Drift® delivers the romance of a rose in a tidy, ground-hugging package that blooms from spring until frost.
Clusters of soft apricot, semi-double flowers cover the low, spreading mound continuously through the season, fading gracefully and dropping on their own so the plant always looks fresh. The glossy green foliage is naturally disease-resistant, holding up where fussier roses struggle.
At only about a foot and a half tall but nearly twice as wide, it is built for the front of the border, the edge of a path, a sunny slope, or a generous container. Hardy across a wide range of climates and famously low-maintenance, it brings nonstop rose color without the work.
Care
Apricot Drift® Rose Care
Apricot Drift® needs full sun — at least six hours daily — for the best bloom, in average, well-drained soil. Good air circulation helps keep the foliage healthy.
Water regularly during the first season and in dry spells; established plants are moderately drought-tolerant. Feed with a slow release fertilizer in early spring and again midsummer to fuel continuous bloom.
These roses are self-cleaning and need no deadheading. Prune in late winter or early spring, cutting back by about one-third to a tidy mound to encourage fresh, vigorous growth and heavy flowering.

How Large Does Apricot Drift® Rose Grow?

Additional Information
What is the botanical name of Apricot Drift® Rose?
The botanical name is Rosa 'Meimirrote' (PP23354). It is part of the Drift® series of low, spreading groundcover roses.
Do I need to deadhead Apricot Drift roses?
No. Drift roses are self-cleaning, meaning they drop their spent blooms on their own and keep flowering without deadheading — one reason they are so low-maintenance.
How is a Drift rose different from a regular shrub rose?
Drift roses are bred to stay low and spreading, like a groundcover, rather than tall and upright. That makes them ideal for edging, slopes, and containers where a full-size shrub rose would be too large. See more in our collection of roses.
Can I grow Apricot Drift in a container?
Yes. Its compact, spreading habit suits patio pots and planters well. Use a large container with good drainage, water regularly, and feed through the season for continuous bloom. Browse more low, spreading options in our groundcovers.
How big does Apricot Drift get?
It stays small — about 1.5 feet tall and 2.5 to 3 feet wide — spreading roughly twice as wide as it is tall, which gives it that low, groundcovering look.
