New Plants for 2027

Plants in our 2026 New Plant collection are recent additions chosen because they offer something meaningfully different—such as improved performance, unique color, compact growth, or better adaptability to home gardens.

These introductions may include newly released cultivars or established varieties that are new to our store based on trial results, grower feedback, and customer demand.

A little of both. Our 2026 collection includes a mix of brand-new plant introductions from top breeders as well as tried-and-true varieties that are new to our store.

Some plants in this collection are recent releases—improved selections with better color, habit, or disease resistance—while others are established varieties we’ve added because they perform reliably in real gardens and fill gaps our customers have been asking for.

Every plant in the 2026 lineup is hand-selected for its quality, hardiness, and overall garden value, whether it’s a brand-new introduction or simply new to Almanac Planting Co.

Choosing the right plants for your USDA Hardiness Zone is key to long-term success in your garden. Every plant in our 2026 collection includes a clearly listed USDA Hardiness Zone range on the product page so you can confirm whether it will thrive in your climate.

• Check the zone rating: Compare the plant’s listed zone range (for example, Zone 4–9) to your own zone to confirm winter survival.
• Use our zone map: Not sure which zone you’re in? Visit our USDA Hardiness Zone Map to quickly look up your area.
• Use filters on the collection page: Many plants can be filtered by cold hardiness or plant type to help narrow your choices.
• Look for notes in the description: We often highlight when a plant is especially cold-hardy, heat-tolerant, or adaptable to a wide range of climates.
• Need help deciding? You can always contact us for personalized recommendations.

By matching your zone with the range listed on each product page, you can confidently choose plants that are well suited to your garden.

Yes. Several plants in our 2026 lineup are native to North America or have native origins, making them excellent choices for gardeners seeking beauty, resilience, and ecological benefits.

These native selections support pollinators, wildlife, and healthy garden ecosystems while offering fresh color, texture, and performance for modern landscapes.

You can explore our full range of native offerings anytime in our Native Plants Collection, many of which also appear among our newest 2026 introductions.

Each year’s new plants are selected through a careful evaluation process that prioritizes real-world performance, long-term reliability, and overall garden value.

We consider trial results, breeder recommendations, grower feedback, and customer requests when deciding which varieties to add.

Both options have their advantages, and the best choice depends on your goals. New plant introductions often offer improved color, longer bloom times, stronger disease resistance, or more compact habits—traits that can make them excellent performers in modern gardens.

• Why choose new introductions? Modern breeding often produces plants that are more resilient, floriferous, or easier to maintain, while offering updated looks and improved performance.
• Why choose proven, established varieties? Long-standing favorites earn their reputation through reliability and consistency across a wide range of growing conditions.
• Best of both worlds: Many gardeners combine established plants for structure with newer introductions for fresh color, texture, and interest.

Our 2026 collection includes a thoughtful mix of both, allowing you to choose what best fits your garden style, experience level, and long-term goals.
