Snow Fountains® Weeping Cherry—also known as the Weeping Yoshino Cherry—is a stunning deciduous flowering tree that brings elegance and seasonal charm to any landscape. Its graceful, weeping branches become smothered in brilliant white blossoms each spring, creating an eye-catching, cascading effect.

During the summer months, lush green foliage adds beauty and shade to the garden. By autumn, the leaves turn a striking golden yellow, sometimes tinged with bronze, providing another season of visual interest.

This tree is a pollinator magnet, attracting butterflies and beneficial insects. Its arching branches also provide excellent shelter for nesting birds.

Weeping Cherry Tree Care

Provide full sun or partial sun. Full sun is best, and will yield the heaviest blooms! Too little light will cause growth issues. 

Fertilization is suggested, especially if soil is poor. Our slow release fertilizer is a great option. We recommend that fertilizations be applied in the spring.

Does best in soil that's moist, slightly acidic, and well draining. Does not thrive in dry soil, although established trees may tolerate dry soil conditions. 

Lightly trim branches to keep them off of the ground. Heavier pruning and trimming is typically not required, although it may be done to promote desired shaping (such as a "mushroom" shape). Any heavy trimming should be done over the course of winter.

Water regularly, especially after planting prior to establishment. Attempt to keep soil moist, but not wet. It's suggested to place 2"-3" of mulch under this plant to help retain a light degree of ground moisture and to prevent the growth of weeds around the base.

All parts of Prunus x 'Snofozam', except for the ripe fruit, contain cyanide and are considered toxic to both humans and pets. The seeds inside the fruit also contain cyanide and should never be consumed.

Signs of poisoning include difficulty breathing, bright red gums or lips, dilated pupils, nausea, shock, and, in severe cases, death. Keep this tree out of reach of pets and children to prevent accidental ingestion.
