Summary
The Redhaven Peach Tree is a popular variety that's best known for its bountiful harvests of delicious fruit with yellow, sweet, and juicy flesh!
Redhaven Peach Trees are very similar to our
Elberta Peach Trees. The main difference is that Redhavens grow slightly larger and are thought to produce bigger, creamier, and overall higher quality fruit than Elbertas; while Elbertas typically produce greater quantities of fruit per tree than Redhavens.
This tree is covered with an explosion of gorgeous pink blooms in the springtime, attracting pollinators and butterflies, and providing seasonal beauty!
It will begin to produce fruit after two to four years, eventually producing large harvests of juicy, creamy, yellow-fleshed peaches that are absolutely excellent for canning, freezing, baking, and (especially) eating fresh!
Red Haven Peach Trees are incredibly versatile and cold-tolerant. They're known to thrive throughout most of the United States, and can survive in areas that get winters as cold as -10°F.
Prized for its resistance to leaf spot!
It is a freestone peach (AKA a melting peach), which means its flesh easily separates from the peach pit and softens as the fruit ripens.
Our Redhaven Peach Trees are self-fertile, so you'll be able to produce peaches with just one tree; however, you'll have better pollination and better harvests if there are other peach trees in the nearby area. As such, we suggest planting peach trees in sets of two or more. If you'd like some variety to your orchard, our Elberta Peach Trees are great cross-pollinators for our Redhaven Peach Trees.
The peaches produced by Redhaven Peach Trees are thought to be some of the highest quality peaches in existence, and are perfect for a variety of uses!
Care
Redhaven Peach Tree Care
Provide full sun, as it will yield the biggest harvests! Too little light will cause growth issues.
Does best in soil that's moist, slightly acidic, and well draining. Does not thrive in dry soil!
Pruning and trimming is typically required to maintain a functional shape. Any heavy trimming should be done shortly after the tree has fully finished flowering.
Fertilization is suggested, especially if the soil is poor. Our slow release fertilizer is a great option. We recommend that fertilizations be applied in the spring.
Water regularly, especially after planting prior to establishment. Attempt to keep soil moist, but not wet. It's suggested to place 2"-3" of mulch or straw under this tree to help retain a light degree of ground moisture and to prevent the growth of weeds around the base.
Space Redhaven peach trees 18' apart.
