Summary

Echinacea 'Cheyenne Spirit'—commonly referred to as Coneflower 'Cheyenne Spirit'—is a beautiful flowering perennial that's known to produce a variety of different color blooms.

Echinacea is a genus of plant that's native to North America, although this particular cultivar was was introduced by Kieft-Pro Seeds in 2012.

Individual plants may produce flowers of either white, cream, red, pink, gold, yellow or purple. We suggest buying at least 3 plants at a time to ensure a variety of color.

The flower stems are known to remain erect after their blooms subside, which often allows the seeds at the center of the flower to dry, providing a source of food for birds.

The flowers dry particularly well and are often used in dried floral arrangements.

Is known to tolerate deer and drought.

Care

Echinacea Care

Echinacea 'Cheyenne Spirit' is known to be very low maintenance and requires minimum care.

Prune to control growth as necessary. It's best to do any heavy pruning and trimming during periods of dormancy, such as late fall (after flowering) or early spring.

Propagation is best accomplished through division once the base of the flowers begin to crowd. This typically happens after about 4 years of growth. We suggest doing such division in the spring.

Fertilizations will accelerate growth and keep your plant well fed. We suggest using our slow release fertilizer, or something similar.

Echinacea 'Cheyenne Spirit' prefers full sun, but it also does well in areas of partial shade.

Water regularly after planting until established, or in periods of drought. Although this plant is drought tolerant and is known to survive dry soil conditions, the ideal soil conditions include a medium amount of moisture.

Is known to tolerate a variety of poor soil conditions.

Removing spent flowers after blooming is finished will keep your plant looking well-maintained and will also promote additional blooms.
