Winter beauty!

This super-tough shrub from Proven Winners® shines when it matters most - in winter! Vivid red stems brighten the landscape when everything else looks dull. About half the size of conventional red-twig dogwood, Arctic Fire® Red thrives even in difficult conditions.

Useful for mass plantings, hedges, specimens, rain gardens, and mixed borders; good for cuts and winter containers.

Native to North America.

Tolerant of a wide range of soil conditions; one of the most shade-tolerant shrubs.

Deer resistant.

Space a minimum of 5' apart from each other (if planting multiple Red Twig Dogwoods).

Red Twig Dogwood Care

Provide full sun or partial sun. Too little light will cause growth issues.

Fertilization is suggested, especially if soil is poor. Our slow release fertilizer is a great option.

We suggest pruning 2-3 times throughout the season (after established) to encourage a dense, well branched and full-bodied plant; avoid cutting into thick stems.

Prune 1/3 of all the branches to the ground in late winter.

Water regularly, especially after planting prior to establishment. Attempt to keep soil moist, but not wet. It's suggested to place 2"-3" of mulch under this plant to help retain a light degree of ground moisture and to prevent the growth of weeds around the base.

Not tolerant of high heat and humidity.

These red twig dogwood were in beautiful shape when they arrived. I have them planted, and we're looking forward to seeing them in the winter snow.
