Anna's Magic Ball® Arborvitae from Proven Winners® is an exciting new species of evergreen tree with vibrant green foliage. Its compact, globe-shaped growth habit makes it perfect for creating a low-maintenance foundation planting in any garden. This shrub also boasts impressive adaptability, able to thrive in both hot and cold climates.

Dwarf evergreens are tremendously useful landscape plants, adding year-round color and structure to gardens. This cute little golden ball holds its color nicely through the winter. It may be used in the landscape or in container gardens

Maintains shape without pruning.

Very hardy and durable in the landscape.

Excellent holiday or winter interest for containers or troughs.

Tolerates pollution and Black Walnut.

Native to North America.

Care

Dwarf Arborvitae Care

Provide full sun to partial shade. Too much shade will cause growth issues.

Fertilization is suggested, especially if soil is poor. Our slow release fertilizer is a great option.

Naturally grows as a tight, compact sphere. New growth may be trimmed to shape in late spring, following plant’s natural habit. Keep well-watered after trimming to prevent browning of edges. Do not cut too hard or cut into thick stems, which will result in slow recovery.

Water regularly, especially after planting prior to establishment. Attempt to keep soil moist but not wet.

This arborvitae prefers soil that is well draining.

Space 3' apart at a minimum.

I had hunted Anna's Magic Ball Arborvitae at all our local garden stores without success. My doubts about ordering them on-line were completely put to rest. The starter plants arrived in two days, perfectly packed for shipment to preclude damage, and were flourishing in top condition. I am extremely pleased with my purchase and would order from Almanac again. The bright spring green color of this arborvitae variety makes it a lovely accent plant in a foundation bed. I have used them to highlight a small vintage cement statue.
