Summary
Sedum spurium 'Fuldaglut'—most commonly known as Caucasian Stonecrop, and sometimes referred to as Two Row Stonecrop—is a low-growing perennial succulent commonly used as a groundcover, in rock beds, in planter boxes, and often as a houseplant. Its sprawling growth habits and unique changing colors are well suited for a variety of locations.!
The leaves and stems are often a combination of both green and red colors. High summer temperatures and full sun exposure promote red hues, while shade and cooler temperatures encourage green hues. Foliage may also turn a deep burgundy color over winter in warmer zones.
Produces tiny, star-shaped bright red flowers from late summer through early fall.
Foliage is considered semi-evergreen. It will remain green or potentially turn burgundy red throughout the winter in warmer zones, and brown over the winter in colder zones.
It's a fast spreading plant, which makes it great as a ground cover. If spreading is not desired, we suggest planting your Sedum spurium in a planter box or hanging basket.
Although Sedum is considered fast-spreading and will take over sections of your garden, it is not considered to be invasive. This is due to the fact that it is extremely shallow rooted and may be easily removed if desired.
Sedum is becoming increasingly popular as a houseplant due to its ease of care and its air purification abilities.

Sedum spurium 'Fuldaglut' (Caucasian Stonecrop) is very easy to care for and does not require lots of attention or maintenance. Some would argue that it does best with neglect.
Sedum Fuldaglut often does best when grown in full sun, although partially shaded areas are often just fine. Too little sun will cause negative growth issues.
Water regularly after planting until established, or in periods of drought. Do not overwater! Its ideal soil is semi-dry to semi-moist, rich, and well draining. Sandy and gravel filled soils are also a favorite of Sedum spurium. Avoid planting in areas that are known to hold water or flood.
Fertilizations will accelerate growth and keep your plant well fed. We suggest using our slow release fertilizer, or something similar.
If grown as a houseplant, it's suggested to place your Sedum in a cold environment (in a cold garage or outside in the winter in zones 4-8) for at least a month out of the year to allow it time for vernalization. Sedum continuously grown in warm (indoor) environments for too long will not grow as nicely and may falter and potentially die after about 12-18 months.
